“SMILE IS WEALTH”

Smile is Wealth –Etienne Nens, Active Smile Restorer Cameroon 2019- 

The statement ‘SMILE IS WEALTH’  said a Smile Restorer who has served as a volunteer with the organization for over 2 years.   After his experience with the organization, he expresses how he has learned to value the smiles that people offer him, especially during happy times, leisure time and most especially when those smiles come from the people we serve.

He said “The program I serve in through the QSR organization, is an eye-opening to me.  The program opened my understanding of the ideology that a person’s smile, is not only a social behavior BUT it is an indicator of a  positive mood that relates to one’s holistic wellbeing. This was interesting, to see this ideology in practice and reality. The program helped me understand that a smile is an inclusive component that facilitates, social relationships and supports one’s sense of belonging in our different communities. QSR operates on a philosophy that smiles that can last a lifetime especially if such smiles emerged when one’s holistic wellbeing needs are met. And I strongly believe that when one’s occupational or financial wellbeing is met, they have Quality Smiles, that would last a lifetime.  Such smiles become wealth! “

 In fact, the way in which wellbeing is tackled, through advancing longterm SMILES of marginalized individuals, really captures the interest of service providers in this organization. Advancing one’s smile at a social level like during leisure and recreational time, or at an economic dimension level through Career Network Mechanism program, is not just uniquely based on the practical experiences of the founder of the QSR International Inc., but it is also driven by the passion to improve the quality of life of vulnerable and orphaned individuals, one person at a time.
